Installing a Framework Xposed Module
Xposed modules are only files that can be installed like any other APK file. the installer application Xposed features a Downloads section that contains lots of modules, but you can also find other modules in the form of APK on XDA and other sites. To install one of modules available in the Xposed Installer app, open the app and go to the Download section. You will see a long list of available modules, each with a description of what it does. Select the module you want to install by tapping on it and you will be shown more details about it. We chose the module Advanced Power menu here that adds advanced options for power menu you get when long pressing the power button.
Scroll the details page and you will see a download button. Tap it, and it will start downloading. Once downloaded, you will receive a similar installation prompt that you get when sideloading an application of your APK. Go ahead and install it
This is -. The module was installed. In case you want to install a module of your APK directly, simply sideload it like any other APK, and it will also be installed.
Activating and using a Framework Xposed Module
installation itself does not allow the module; it only becomes available for Xposed. Whether you install a module from the Xposed Installer application or sideloading your APK directly, you will be shown a notification asking you that the module is not active. Tap this notification and you will be taken to the Modules section of the Xposed Installer application. (You can also go there directly by opening the Xposed Installer application and playing modules.) Here, you can enable or disable any of the available modules, using beside them check box.
play any input module here takes you to the configuration page, where you can play with the settings to adjust it the way you want. The modules may require that you restart your device for your changes to take effect. If this is the case, do so after enable it. Once a module has been installed, enabled and configured, you will be able to start using its features. In our example, the module changed the menu power of our stock Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM on Galaxy Nexus to the one below, adding reboot options and screen capture. The Reset menu added by this module also allows restart recovery and a soft reset, and normal.
The way Xposed functions and the possibilities it opens it does make a truly revolutionary development in the world of Android customization. With the right choice of modules, you can have almost all the major popular custom ROMs features on your device, all while still in stock ROM and without blinking all recovery files.
